Betty Putnam

Betty L. Putnam, age 74, of Gulfport, passed away on March 17, 2010 in Hattiesburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Putnam; her parents, Paul D. Hudson and Ruth Carolyn Husdon; a brother, Paul D. """"Sonny"""" Hudson, Jr; and a sister, Patsy Hudson.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn E. Plunkett of Saucier, Cindi Gibeault and her husband, Michael, of Pass Christian, Liz Lewis and her husband, Tommy, of Saucier, James Douglas Keesee and his wife, Shantel, of Kansas, and Candace Pena and her husband, Michael, of New Mexico; her sisters, Bootsey Lawson, Sandra Dickerson, Paula Robinson, and Pam Button; thirteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
She was a resident of the Gulf Coast most of her life, a homemaker, and enjoyed arts and crafts, decorating homes, and creating floral arrangements. Always helping others, she was awarded the Shelter Team Member Certificate by Wesley Manor Methodist Retirement Center for going above and beyond the call of duty. She was of the Methodist faith.
She was always a loving mother who will be sadly missed by her children, family, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Grace Chapel Church, Gulfport, where family and friends may visit from 11:00 AM until service time.
