Betty Jean Moreau, 75, of Long Beach died Saturday, February 3, 2007 in Gulfport.
She was a native of San Pedro, CA and lived most of her life on the coast. Mrs. Moreau was a graduate of Long Beach High School in 1949. She and Allie Moreau were married for over 50 years and she was a volunteer at the Gulfport VA with over 10,000 hours. She especially enjoyed helping during the Christmas season wrapping gifts for the patients. Mrs. Moreau was a member of the VFW Post 3937 Auxiliary. She served as president for the 73-74 term. It was at this time that the auxiliary received the award for being Number One in the state of Mississippi. This was the only time Auxiliary 3937 ever received this award.
Mrs. Moreau was also a member of M.O.C.A. #10, Long Beach and the Long Beach Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing BINGO, reading, and doing crochet.
She was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Bryson and a daughter, Judy Weaver.
Survivors include her husband, Allie """"Frenchie"""" Moreau, Long Beach, 3 children, Robert Moreau, Alexandria, AL, James Moreau, Saucier, and Peggy Johnston, Long Beach, 1 brother, Robert Chaudoin, Nokomis, FL, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
