Betty Maude Ladner, age 85, of Kiln, passed away while receiving her final sacrament on December 29, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Ladner; a grandson, Reed Joseph Ladner; a great-granddaughter, Paityn Lilee Ladner; her parents, Sylvester and Velina Moran; sisters, Doris Moran, Ouida Ziemke, and Inez Smith; her brothers, Robert Ray Moran and Huey Moran.
Survivors include her children, Jamie Ladner, Gregory (Danie) Ladner, Joan (Wayne) Alford, Sharon (Roger) Ladner, and Mark (Melanie) Ladner; a brother, Jack (InlaRae) Moran; sisters-in-law, Jean Moran and Lou Moran; brother-in-law, Tracy Smith; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Ladner graduated from Kiln High School in 1951 and remained a lifelong resident of the Kiln. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dedeaux and was a faithful communicant for more than 60 years. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, listening to her favorite music, traveling, and spending time with her family.
The family would like to extend appreciation to all who helped in the care of their mother. They especially would like to thank Janice Shaw, her caregiver for 15 months, and the staff of Woodland Village especially the activity committee for always making her the queen.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 2, 2018, from 10 am - 12 pm at Annunciation Catholic Church, Kiln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 pm in the church. Interment will be in Alphonse Malley Memorial Cemetery.
