Betty Evelyn Dykes Ferrill, age, 59 of Saucier, died on Wednesday, November 26, 2008, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Ferrill was a life long resident of the Gulf Coast. She attended Harrison Central High School, and was a caregiver who took care of people and gave of her self. She was a mom to many all of her life. Her love for food, which included eating out often, and offering her critique of the food good or bad. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to many people, who will be sadly missed. We love you and we will see you in heaven.
She was preceded in death by her father C.J. Dykes and her brother James """"Eddie"""" Dykes and Pappy-Vernon A. """"Red"""" Odom.
Survivors include her mother, Ersley Linda Odom of Orange Grove; children, Prentice """"Sonny"""" Ferrill (finance Christy Davis) of Saucier, a daughter Sassy Ferrill Miller (Brian) of Saucier; brothers, Elvin """"Boots"""" Dykes (Kay) of Saucier, Ernie Dykes (Judy) of AZ, Curtis Dykes of Atlanta, GA, Bobby Dykes (Donna) of Orange Grove, and Vernon A. Odom, Jr. of Orange Grove; two grandchildren, Chase Ferrill and Casey Clannahan.
Special thanks to Dr. Stephanie Fussell and the nurses and CNA's on the Oncology Floor 3B at Memorial Hospital at Gulfport.
Visitation will be held on Friday night at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Highway 49 N. from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral services on Saturday, at 3pm in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Finley Cemetery. An online guestbook maybe signed at www.riemannfamily.com.
