Betty Bernardy

Betty Jean Bernardy, age 80, of Jackson, passed away on December 19, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her second husband, Larry Peter Bernardy; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Carey Blackstock; and her parents, William M. Welsh and Velma Mae Woodruff Welsh.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey William Blackstock (Regina); a sister, Deborah Ables Boyd (Bruce); her grandchildren, Jason Blackstock, Amy Mills (Tim), Karen Torres, Brandon Blackstock (Kara), Kristen Stephens (Cory), and Morgan Blackstock; and many great grandchildren; her step-children, David Bernardy (Cindy), Bill Bernardy (Gina), and Karen Lazaro (Girard).

She was a graduate of Provine High School in Jackson and she worked for Allstate Insurance as an underwriter and later retired from Mississippi Home Corporation.  Mrs. Bernardy loved to travel, spending time with her horses and her dog, and had many devoted friends.

A graveside service will be at 12:00 pm on Monday, December 27, 2021, at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to a Shriners Children Hospital, or your favorite charity.
