Betsy Coss

Mrs. Betsy Logas Coss, age 84, of Long Beach, MS, was born June 24, 1925 in Lynn, Massachusetts. She passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning on Saturday, May 29, 2010, in Gulfport, MS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Coss, Sr., her parents, and her Uncle Nick and Aunt Helen Booras, who raised her following the death of her parents.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Vanides (Steve) of Melrose Park, IL; and her children, Donald E. Coss, Jr. of Long Beach, MS, and William Allan Coss (Leeann) of Tampa, FL. She was a loving mother to her two sons, and grandmother to her three grandchildren, Lisa Oursler, of Colonial Beach. VA, Michael R. Coss of Las Vegas, NV, and Shaleen Everett (Randall) of San Francisco, CA, and to her three great-grandchildren, Brittany Jett, of Colonial Beach, VA, Daniel Jr., and Mason Oursler of Hughesville, MD, and one great-great-grandchild, Carter. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and special friends, Glenda Schornick and Rita-Blaize Watson of Bay St. Louis, Donald & Helen (Jo) Mauffray and Alfred & Judith Reyer of Long Beach, and June Fernan of Lothian, MD, all of whom had a special place in her heart.
A deeply religious woman throughout her life, she was of the Greek Orthodox faith. She never met a stranger and was a caring and kindhearted friend to all who knew her.
Interment will be beside her husband of 43 years at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD, on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 2:00 P.M.
