Bessie Richardson

Bessie """"Terry"""" Richardson, age 86, of Gulfport, passed away on January 16, 2009 in Gulfport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Wesley Richardson and Mauda Terry Richardson; and her sisters, Oma Maden and Mildred Dyer of Tennessee.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Walter Richardson, of Gulfport, MS; her sons, Rev. James Richardson and his wife, Carol, Harold Richardson and his wife, Rhonda, and Terry Richardson and his wife, Peggy, all of Ohio; her daughter, Faye Taylor and her husband, William """"Jack"""", of Gulfport, MS; her brothers, Jessie Terry and his wife, Bunny, of California and Paul Terry of Ohio; her sisters, Audrey Griffith of Tennessee and Thelma Parton of Ohio; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was born in Morgan County, Tennessee on November 17, 1922 and moved to Dayton (Mad River/Riverside) in 1954. She was a member of the Moraine Heights, Belmont, and Sugarcreek Baptist churches in Ohio and joined Michael Memorial Baptist Church when they moved to Gulfport in 1988. As a youth, she was baptized into Pilot Mountain Baptist Church and continued to love and serve the Lord throughout her life. She was a """"stay-at-home-mom"""" who was loved and appreciated by her children and grandchildren.
The family is grateful to all her caregivers at the Driftwood Nursing Home.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 7:00 PM at the Schubert's Funeral Home in Wartburg, Tennessee where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Burial will be at Lane Cemetery on Friday, January 23, 2209 at 1:00 PM.
