Bertrand K. “Bert” Dauro, age 81, of Long Beach, passed away on May 1, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Sadie Dauro; 2 brothers, Roger and Andrew Dauro; and his first wife, Joyce Dauro.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Lois Ladner Dauro; his children, Julie Dauro Sims (Ray) of Hattiesburg, Kary G. Dauro (Traci) of Gulfport; a step-son, Dennis Franks (Becky) of Perkinston; his grandchildren, Amy Sims Rogillio (Clint), Leigh Anne Sims Doleac (Mark), Ashley Dauro Pedeaux (Kevin); step-grandchildren, Gabby Franks and Khloe Franks; and his great-grandchildren, Abby and Allison Rogillio, Owen and Philip Pedeaux, and Mark Doleac, Jr.; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Mr. Dauro was a successful businessman and he did contract work for many years for the Long Beach Public School System Bus and Vehicle Fleet and he owned and operated several shrimp boats over the years. He was an avid golfer, showed quarter horses, fisherman, builder of many things, a mechanic extraordinaire, and in his younger days he enjoyed drag racing. He was affectionally known to his family as the “Hobby master.”
The family would like to thank the staff of Fresenius Kidney Care Center in D’Iberville for their loving care of Mr. Dauro.
A graveside service will be on Monday, May 4, 2020, at 11:30 am in Evergreen Gardens Cemetery.
