Berniece Maloy Eastes, of Lyman, passed away on April 18, 2010, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Eastes was born on February 3, 1923, in Brooklyn, Forrest County, MS. She has been a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast since 1949 and lived in the West Lyman Community since 1958.
Mrs. Eastes retired from Tuckers Laundry and Dry Cleaners in 1980 in Gulfport where she had worked as the Office Manage for thirteen years.
Mrs. Eastes was a member of the Lyman Baptist Church in Lyman, MS and a Charter Member of the Daughters of the Nile of Biloxi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert O. Maloy and Verlena McLenden Maloy, sisters, Alma Butler and Ann Morris and a brother Albert Maloy, Jr., all of Carnes, MS.
Berniece is survived by her husband of 60+ years, LeRoy F. Eastes, a sister, Jenny Bryant of McHenry, and two brothers, Bill and Darlene Maloy of Texarkana, TX, and Leon Maloy of Lyman; a son, J. Mike and Genice Eastes, Sr.; daughter, Sally and Otts Loposser of Lyman; step-son, Jerry F. and Lucia Eastes of McHenry, five grandchildren, Katherine Denice Dickens of Gulfport, J. Michael and Amy Eastes, II of Durham, NC, Mary and Marjorie Eastes of McHenry, MS and Christopher Loposser and Candice of Gulfport; four great-grandchildren, Justin Warden, Destiny Cowart, Tyler and Kate Loposser all of Gulfport.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 22, 2010, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213Hwy 49 North, Gulfport.
The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be at Finley Cemetery, of Highway 53 in West Lyman.
