Bernice Beatrice Harrington, 92, of Gulfport died Friday, December 01, 2006 in Gulfport.
She was a native of Crystal Springs, MS and graduated from Laurel High School and Jeff Davis Junior College in Cosmetology. She worked as a beautician for 10 years and later worked at Memorial Hospital as an LPN and then retired from Keesler Air Force Base Hospital after 16 years. In the 1960's, she worked as the charge nurse at Schustad Nursing Home she also did private duty nursing for many years. Mrs. Harrington was of the baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Michael Harrington, parents, Horace and Zamora Campbell Barker, sister, Mildred Sumrall, and a brother, Roland Barker.
Survivors include her children, Lucy Harrington Welch, Long Beach, Clara Harrington Dobbyn, Cleve Harrington and wife Sibyl, both of Gulfport, and David Harrington and wife Marty, Pass Christian, her sister, Louise Tanksly, Mobile, AL, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 3, 2006 from 7 - 9 pm at Gulf Coast Funeral Home, Three Rivers Road Chapel, Gulfport. The funeral service will be at 10 am Monday in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
