Bernice Brown

Bernice Eley Brown, 82, of Gulfport, died Saturday, September 11, 2010, in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Brown was born in Vancleave on September 1, 1928. She was a lifetime member of the VFW and DAV, and was a volunteer at the VA hospital and former Naval Home, where she spent countless hours. Mrs. Brown was also an active member of the Military Order of the Cootie, where she was a past-president. She loved to go dancing, play Bingo, and Mardi Gras. Her family and friends will remember her most for her love of life and family.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, John Richard Eley and Martha Caroline Elviney (Davis) Eley; first husband, Emery J. Farve, Sr.; second husband, Peter Gillan; third husband, John P. Brown; her long time companion, Ed Creamer; two sons, Emery J. Farve, Jr. and Carl O. Talluto; siblings, Estelle Wedgeworth, Grace Foley, Audrey Mae Carter, Florence Smith, Ola V. Parker, Ophelia E. Dart, L.E. Eley and Lloyd Eley.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her 6 children, Margaret Schwartz (P.K.) of Biloxi, Nelda Dunnam (Joseph) of Leakesville, Linda Bennett (Jerry) of Perkinston, Richard Brown (Denise) of Biloxi, Daniel Gillan (Dana) of Ocean Springs, and Randy Gillan of Ocean Springs; 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2010, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, from 4-6 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 6 p.m.
