Benny McCollister

Benny Jerome McCollister, age 70, passed away on March 6, 2011, in Bay St. Louis, MS. He was born in Gulfport, MS and was a resident of Metairie, LA and Bay St. Louis, MS. He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps and was a former manager in the oil and gas field for 35 years. He worked in the Gaming Industry until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and coined the phrase ""it's all in the wrist"".
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmitt Benjamin & Donna Roberts ""Jackie"" McCollister. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Jeanne Mahoney McCollister, his children, Michael McCollister of Gulfport, MS, Elise Haas (Andrew) of Huntsville, AL, Wendom Johnston of Metairie, LA, Jeanne McCollister of Kiln, MS, and Benjamin McCollister of Metairie; his grandchildren, Ethan Haas, Brian Johnston, II, Taylor McCollister, and Madeleine Haas; his brothers, Charles McCollister, David McCollister, and Donald McCollister; his sisters, Choyce McCollister and Lona Chase.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at 3:00pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 125 Church Avenue in Pass Christian, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery.
The RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road in Pass Christian, is in charge of arrangements.
