Benjamin Delus Ware

Benjamin Delus Ware, age 95, passed away on March 3, 2023.  Ben was born in Taylorsville, MS and although there were many places he lived, he always came home to Mississippi.

Ben was a retired Technical Sergeant, with 20 years in the United States Air Force.  While in the Air Force, he was a highly skilled instructor of aircraft weapons control systems.   While in the Air Force, in 1964, Ben met his wife Freda at a dinner party in Denver, Colorado.  They loved traveling and enjoying each other’s families.  They were happily married for 54 years.

In addition to his military service, Ben also retired with another 20 years in federal civil service spending a majority of his time at Rocky Mountain Arsenal in Colorado as an Electronic Technician responsible for troubleshooting dangerous chemical demilitarization systems.

Ben had a passion and appreciation for music that influenced many.  He loved traveling, gardening, electronics, and studying history.

Ben received various rewards and recognitions throughout his working years, however most would tell you that his greatest strength was his calming influence.  He was inspirational to family and friends, always encouraging them to learn and take on new challenges.

Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Freda; his parents Delus and Nola Ware; his sisters Francis, Ruth, Johnnie and Jessie.

Ben is survived by his children, Ed, and Angie (Bret); his grandchildren Shaelyn, Jake and Trey; his brother Tom; his sisters Hettie and Jackie; and many loving Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends throughout Mississippi, Kentucky, and Colorado.

The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 17^th at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS, with visitation starting at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
