Ben W. Stanford, age 78 of Petal, MS, and formerly of Long Beach, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2008, in Petal.
Mr. Stanford was a life long resident of the Gulf Coast. He worked for the Mississippi Test Facility for 20 years, and Memorial Hospital in Gulfport for 10 years. He served in the US Army, and was formerly a member of First Baptist Church of Long Beach, MS. At his death he was a member of the Carterville Baptist Church.
Mr. Stanford was preceded in death by his parents, and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife Catherine (Peco) Stanford of Petal; his children, Kenneth W. (Rocky) Stanford and wife Mary of Magnolia, TX, Alan R. (Bo) Stanford and wife Cindy of Fairhope, AL, and Sandra Dee (Sandee) Lawrence and husband William (Bill) of Petal, MS; grandchildren, Jessie Stanford, Kimberly Guthrie, Elizabeth Dawson, Jake Stanford, Matthew Lawrence, Catherine Stanford, Daniel Lawrence, Kassie Stanford, and Jeffrey Stanford; great grandchildren, Zoey Peters, and Ford Guthrie; siblings, Peggy Oliver of OR, and Pat Stanford of TX.
Visitation will be held from 6pm until 8pm on Monday, November 24, 2008 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd., Long Beach. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 10am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Long Beach City Cemetery.
