Basil Ray Hershberger

Basil Ray Hershberger, 74, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at his
He was born on July 15, 1940 in Muncie, Indiana to Basil E. and Ruth
Hershberger. He was a 1958 graduate of Royerton High School.
Ray honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for 24
years, retiring at Keesler Air Force base. He returned to Muncie, Indiana
after Hurricane Katrina hit Biloxi in 2005.
He was big hearted and generous, always helping those in need.
Survivors include: children, Robin (Michael) Caldwell of Biloxi, MS, Renita
(Richard) Coleman of Biloxi, MS, Ray Dennis Hershberger of Biloxi, MS;
grandchildren, Patrick Ray Hershberger, Jessica Dawn Coleman, Bayleigh
Caldwell, all of Biloxi, MS; sisters, Reah (Earl) Schwartzkopf of Estes
Park, CO, Janice (Jan) Oliver of Muncie, IN; nieces and nephews, Nicole
(Anthony) Morris, Gabriella, Mackenzie, Brice (Sarah) Oliver, Madison,
Victoria, Kira, Ross, David York, Bill (Kendra) York, Zane, Caden, Beckett,
special friend Marsha Alfont.
Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Oundrea Rawson, and his parents.
Visitation will be Monday, March 30, 2015 at Riemann Family Funeral Home,
274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, Mississippi from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Burial will
follow at The National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, his family prefers donations to The Humane Society of
South Mississippi, 2615 25th Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39501.
