Barney O'Neal

Mr. Barney Waco O’Neal, 84, of Saucier, a loving husband, father of four children, and grandfather, passed away on January 26, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Barney was born February 26, 1936, in Vancleave, the son of the late William and Sabra Jane Kates O’Neal. Barney was a preacher during his lifetime. He retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after working many years. He loved to spend time with his family, church family, and friends. He loved to read God’s word and attend church, where he was a member of Sunflower Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Grand Lodge of Mississippi, where he was a Master Mason in Good Standing with the Daisy Lodge #0421 F&AM. In addition to his parents, Barney was preceded in death by his son, Steve O’Neal, grandson, Craig O’Neal, one sister, Willene Sigmon and by two brothers, Dennis and Wade O’Neal.

Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Louise O’Neal; children, Jeff O’Neal and wife, Barbara, and Robert and Paul O’Neal; two grandchildren, Stephanie Plascencia and her husband, Art and Krista O’Neal; three great grandchildren, Christian, Makayla, and Sienna; two sisters, Peggy Tiblier and Jane Mallett and her husband, Russell; two brothers, Toby O’Neal and his wife, Bonnie and Bill O’Neal and his wife, Susan.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 3, 2021, beginning at 10:30 A.M. from Ramsey Creek Baptist Church in Saucier, with funeral services to follow at 11:30 A.M. with Brother Billy Reyer officiating. Interment will follow in Ramsey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
