Barbara Russell Walker, age 65, resident of Gulfport, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 22, 2009.
Mrs. Walker was born in Memphis, TN, where she lived most of her life. She and her husband of 25 years, moved to the Coast in 2004. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Orange Grove. She loved shopping and playing computer games, and enjoyed cooking for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ervin C. Russell.
She is survived by her mother, Julia Mae Cochran Russell Wadlington; husband, Walter """"Mink"""" Walker of Gulfport; children, Michael Wayne York, William Russell York, Lorrie Walker Nelson, Leonard Calvin York, Susan Walker Hicks, Deborah York Phelps, Tricia York Hubbard, Kenneth Hicks Walker; brother, Ervin Cecil Russell; sister, Patricia Jane Russell Bailey; 23 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, where friends may call from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Orange Grove, 15486 Orange Grove Road, Gulfport, MS 39503.
