Barbara Melton, age 68 and a lifelong resident of Gulfport, died on Monday, May 10, 2010, in Gulfport. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Melton is preceded in death by her parents, Franklin Black & Evelyn Morrison Dennis, and an infant son.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 45 years, Everett Melton of Gulfport; her children, Rhonda Moore, Raymond Howard, Debra Langston, Donald Howard, Vicki Byrd, Evelyn Phelps, Kathy Boyd, and Elizabeth Melton all of Gulfport; her brothers and sisters, Gladys Breeden, Audrey Phiffer both of Maryland, Mary Harris of West Virginia, Sandra Dorme of Tucson, AZ, and Mary Black of Ohio; 22 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 49 North in Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Wolf River Cemetery.
