Barbara Cuevas

December 10, 1943 — February 7, 2021

Gulfport

On Sunday, February 7, 2021 Barbara Elaine Cuevas, at the age of 77, went to her heavenly home. She was born in Gulfport, Mississippi on December 10, 1943. She was a life long resident of the Lizana Community and dedicated her life as the most loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother to her family. She was reunited with her loving husband of almost 40 years, Purvey J. Cuevas, her parents, Thomas L. and Erma Lee Saucier, two brothers, Robert and Carl Saucier, one sister, Charlotte Reeves, her great-grandson, Sheldon Ladner, and several other loved ones.

She is survived by her children, Perry Cuevas (Darnell), Ronnie Cuevas, Rhonda Cuevas (Kenneth) and Julie Schivers (John). She also leaves behind 7 beloved grandchildren, Ashley Cuevas, Amanda Ladner (Richie), Jonathan McCoy (Kayla), Matthew McCoy (Kayla), Tyler Snyder (Morgan), Jalynn and Jaycee Schivers, nine great-grandchildren, Lilian, Owyn, Caden, Landen, Rayden, Ryder, Nash, Brantley, and Grayson, her siblings, Shirley Carter, Mike Saucier (Linda), and Dennis Ray Saucier (Kay), along with several loved ones, including nephews, nieces, and cousins.

She was a warrior and servant always seeking her strength from the Lord and striving to remain faithful even while battling major health issues. (Philippians 4:13) She always desired pouring her love over all who surrounded her. No matter where God placed her, she was an encourager to many. The Lord revealed his favorite number “ 7” confirming at 77 years old, 7th day of the week, on the 7th day of February 2021 her life had been completed in pure perfection. The word “Bye” was a word you never heard her say, not even over the phone. Her last words were “I love you”, it was always her way of telling you “til I see you again". She will be dearly missed by all who loved her, especially Mrs. Angie Long, her angel on earth grafted in as a forever sister to her and her family.

Family and friends are invited for visitation and services on Saturday, February 13th at Heaven Bound Church, 14434 Church Street, Gulfport MS 39503. Visitation will be held from 12 to 3 p.m., with the funeral service at 3 p.m. Interment will follow at Wolf River Cemetery
