Mrs. Aurelia Wheat Swain, age 88, resident of Perkinston, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2010.
Mrs. Swain was born in Picayune in 1921 and lived in Gulfport most of her life. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church in Hancock County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Swain; parents, John and Clyde Wheat; grandsons, Billy Jones, Jr. and Jay Whitfield; nine siblings.
She is survived by her children, Reba Clark (Edson) of Perkinston, Gerald Whitfield (Ruth) of Hideaway, TX; sister, Bernie Anthony of Conway, AR; grandchildren, Renee O'Neal, Bobby Jones, and James Whitfield; 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, at 11 am, where friends may visit one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach.
