Audrey E. Garner, age 87, of Gulfport, died Saturday, January 3, 2009 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Garner was a native of Winn Parrish, LA and had lived most of her life here on the coast. She worked for Mac Smith Garment Factory and was later a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Bible Church where she enjoyed all the activities of church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Meredith and Lena Smith, and two brothers, Roland Smith and Merton Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Garner; a son, Freddie Burkhalter; 3 siblings: Gertrude Tanner, Jimmie Smith, and Dourl Smith; 5 grandchildren: Paul Burkhalter, Keith Burkhalter, Stephanie M. Page, Cheryl Huster, and Eloice Y. Calcagno; and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport where friends may visit from 10-11.
Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to Trinity Bible Church, 9095 W. Oaklawn Rd., Biloxi, MS 39532.
