Audrey Freeman

Audrey “Luverne” Freeman of Gulfport, MS went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at the age of 91. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Luverne, also known as Sister to her family and friends in Chipley, FL, was born on December 21,1930 to the late Maxwell “Mack” A. and Clara Stephens Hudson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald “DL” Freeman; second mother, Mable Hudson; brothers, Bubba Hudson, and Henry Hudson; sisters, DeLena Pettis, Voncile Estes, and Dinki Burns.

Luverne is survived by her son, Donald L. Freeman (Jackie); daughters, Lisa Allen, and Linda Brownlee (Randy); sisters, Lola Heisler, and Mary Lynn Deal; brother, Billie M. Hudson (Dottie); grandchildren Meghan Farley, Kristin Lopez, Joshua Freeman, Stephanie Barry; honorary granddaughter, Charity Hudson Tate; and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Bel Aire Baptist Church, 15080 Dedeaux Road, Gulfport, MS 39503, Friday, June 10, 2022, from 9:30am until time of funeral service at 11:00am.  Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi, MS.
