Audine Ryals Hill, 87, resident of Woodland Village in Diamondhead, died Tuesday, September 19, 2006 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Hill was born on September 21, 1919 in Neshoba County, MS. She graduated from Arlington High School in Neshoba County, East Central Community College at Decatur, and the University of Southern Mississippi with a BS in education. She retired from the Gulfport School District after 35 years of teaching and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gulfport where she taught Sunday School and was an active member of the Senior Adults for many years. She was also a member of the Gold Star Wives.
Mrs. Hill is preceded in death by her husband, John W. Hill; an infant son, John Stanley Hill; parents, Homer and Olive Pope Ryals; two sisters, Marlene Martin and Julia Lundy; and a brother, Homer Ryals, Jr.
She is survived by four nieces, Carolyn (Rufus) Smith of Gulfport, Barbara (Larry) Lewis of Philadelphia, MS, Nelda (Glenn) Grimsley of Canton, MS and Martha (Danny) O'Cain of Canton, MS ; five nephews, Tommy (Linda) Martin of Canton, MS, Kenny Ryals of Philadelphia, MS, Mike Ryals of Philadelphia, MS Mark (Rita) Stuart of Philadelphia, MS and Donnie (Regina) Stuart of Jaycee, MS; and many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the First Baptist Church of Gulfport Building Fund, 516 A Courthouse Road, Gulfport, MS 39507.
Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2006 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at McClain Hayes Funeral Home, Philadelphia, MS. Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery near Philadephia.
