Arthur Frederick Prince, age 82 of Gulfport, passed away April 2, 2019, in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Prince and Margaret Trickle Prince; his brothers, Richard, Edward, and Walter Prince; and his sister, Clair Prince Walters.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 48 ½ years, Marcia Ann (Fick) Prince of Gulfport, MS his daughter, Michelle "Missy" Lee Prince of Portland, Oregon; sons, William James "Jim" Prince (Cheryl) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Andrew Fredrick (Tamara) Prince of Hillsboro, Oregon; his brother, Robert K. Prince of Lansdale, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, William James Prince, Jr. of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Gabrielle Elise Prince of Hillsboro, Oregon.
Mr. Prince was a native of New York, NY, and most recently resided in Gulfport, MS. He served in the Navy and Air Force for 20 years as a chef and baker with 19 tours in Vietnam. After retirement from active duty, he worked as a chef at the Naval Home in Gulfport, a chef for the VA, and a chef for Garden Park Hospital. He also was a general manager for Hardee's, where he was awarded "Store of the Year."
He enjoyed playing softball & pool, cake decorating, Pinochle, singing in the church choir, cooking, and meeting seniors at Hardee's for breakfast and good conversations with friends. He was a member of Ramsay United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Men's Group.
