Arthur A. Johnson, Jr., 73, died Monday, April 28, 2014 in Gulfport.
Mr. Johnson was born in Gary, Indiana and grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana. He has been a long-time resident of Gulfport. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and enjoyed 20 years retirement with family and friends. He was a member of the Gulf Coast Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur A. Johnson, Sr. and Rosella Stafford Johnson; his brother, Lenard Johnson; and his daughter, Dawn A. Johnson Thompson.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Betty Johnson; son, Scott J. Johnson; god-daughter, Terrie Hall; brother, Jim Johnson; grandchildren, Ricky and Ashley Thompson, David Johnson, Autumn, Piper, and Raven Hall; great-grandchildren, Malory Dawn Thompson and AvaLynn Jarrett.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at 1:30pm at Biloxi National Cemetery, with military honors to be rendered by the United States Navy Honor Guard.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, served the family.
