Mr. Arlin James Moran, age 47, resident of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2009.
Mr. Moran was a native of Gulfport and a graduate of St. John High School, the University of Southern Mississippi, and William Carey College. He earned his Specialist Degree and Doctoral Degree from USM. He worked for the Harrison County Alternative School for several years before being hired by the Pascagoula School District as assistant principal for Pascagoula High School. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He loved sports, especially football. He lived to help children and was dedicated to their education. Mr. Moran was a devoted family man, and will be missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ella Louis Latimer and Arnold James Moran.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Lisa Diane Moyer-Moran of Gulfport; daughter, Morgan Elizabeth Moran of Gulfport; mother-in-law, Susia Moyer Prine of Wesson, MS; brother, Ernest Joseph Moran of Kansas; aunt, Carol Ann Dauro of Gulfport; and uncle, Dan Moran and his wife Margaret of Gulfport.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2009, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, where friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 1, 2009, at St. James Catholic Church, Gulfport at 11 a.m. Friends may visit one hour prior to Mass. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Catholic School, Scholarship Fund in memory of Arlin Moran, 603 West Ave., Gulfport, MS 39507
