Arlene (Arla) J. McGillivray, age 74, passed through this life to reunite with loved ones who passed before her on March 21, 2010.
Mrs. McGillivray was born in Chicago, IL on July 24, 1935 and was a resident of Ocean Springs, MS since March 1973. She'd been employed by Ingall's Shipbuilders (now Northrup-Grumman), Ocean Spring's first K-mart, and R. F. Ederer's Fishnet Company. Upon her marriage to the late Clarence A. McGillivray (U.S.A.F. Ret.) on June 2, 1984, she became a homemaker and caregiver during his 16 month battle with cancer, which took him in 1989.
God called her precious daughter, Gloria Jean Sonnenberg, to be with Him shortly before her 5th birthday, as well as her son, Greg H. Sonnenberg, at age 47. Also preceding in passing were her father, Joseph E. Keith; loving step-dad, Henry (Butch) Felde, Jr.; """"Beloved Mama"""", Irene H. (Keith) Felde; many """"very special"""" aunts, uncles, and a cousin; and two dear friends, Buddy Coleman and Sylvia Sprague.
Survivors include her northern and southwest families, her aunt, """"Sweet LeiLoni"""" Auntie Elaine; special cuz's, Gayle, Randy, Mike, Ted, Doug, Gary, Ron, and Dennis; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a son and a daughter, and """"God Bless my Guardian Angel and """"Lil Sis"""" Marilyn (Buddy) Coleman. Without her, I'd never have gotten this far.""""
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Biloxi National Cemetery.
