Ares Joseph """"A.J."""" Hoda, Jr., age 68, of Kiln, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in Kiln.
Mr. Hoda was a lifelong resident of the Rocky Hill Community in Hancock County. He was an avid pool shooter, enjoyed old music and formerly trained race horses. He was a stranger to none.
Mr. Hoda was preceded in death by his parents, Ares Hoda, Sr. and Katherine Cameron Hoda; his brother, Larry Hoda; his grandson, Calvin Hoda; and his grand daughter, Kara Cuevas.
He is survived by Vernell Hoda of Kiln; his children, Angie Ladner (Darby) of Saucier, Kenny Hoda (Catherine) of Kiln, Danny Hoda of Kiln, Jeffery Hoda of Kiln, Jane Hoda (Kevin) of Kiln, Julie Scott (Michael) of Kiln, Chad Peterson (Tammy) of Kiln; step children, Dwayne Peterson (Becky) of Poplarville, Robby Peterson (Kari) of Poplarville, Karen Peterson of Kiln; his sisters, Marlene Daniels of Kiln, Linda Ladner of Kiln, Helen Scarbrough of Gulfport; twenty -four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 25, 2008 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road. Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. till 2:00 P.M.. Burial will follow at Standard Sandhill Cemetery.
