Mrs. Ardys Boone Smith, age 84, resident of Wiggins, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, in Bay St. Louis.
Mrs. Smith was born and raised in Wiggins. She was a former member of Fernwood Baptist Church in Gulfport and was a member of North Hills Baptist Church in Wiggins. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Monroe Smith; father, William Rufus Smith; mother, Arbelle Frierson; and a sister, Exa Mae Carbonette.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Webb (Gerald) of Ocean Springs, Rufus Smith (Carolyn) of Gulfport, and Ruben Smith (Susie) of Gulfport; grandchildren, Dena Kopszywa, Celine Ahern, Jay Ford, Martin and James Smith, Leslie Smith Flowerday, and Jason Ruben Smith; great grandchildren, Tyler and Breanna Kopszywa, Dylan and Raquel Ahern, Jay Patrick Ford, M.J. and Joelle Smith, and Mary Greer Flowerday.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2008, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, from 10-11 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. A procession will leave the funeral home after services to Woodland Cemetery in Wiggins.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Breast Cancer Research), 5005 LBJ Fwy., Ste. 250, Dallas, TX 75244.
