Antonia M. Juen, 85, of Biloxi, died Saturday, June 18, 2011, in Hattiesburg where she resided for the last 2 ½ years.
Antonia was born and raised on ""Cedar Street on the Point,"" and was a lifelong resident of Biloxi. After graduating high school, she worked for the local telephone company. In 1950, Antonia married Joseph Juen at St. Michaels Church, and they worked together to establish a successful dry cleaning business in Biloxi. She grew up in St. Michaels Parish, and later became a member of Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral where she was active in various committees.
Through Mrs. Juen's Yugoslavian heritage, she was a lifetime member of the Slavocian Ladies Auxiliary. She was formerly an active member of Le Danseuse Carnival Association and served as a maid in the court for the carnival ball. Antonia and her husband, Joe, enjoyed many years as members of the Antique Auto and Engine Club of Mississippi.
Mrs. Juen was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Juen; her parents, George and Mandelina Pitalo Misko; five brothers, George, Steve, Peter, Anthony, and Albert Misko; and two sisters, Lucretia Doljanin and Elizabeth Gutierrez.
She is survived by her three daughters, Jolynn Roberts and husband, Paul of Biloxi, Carolyn Brooks of Atlanta, GA, and Debbie Ferrill and husband, Tom of Hattiesburg; one brother, John Misko; two sisters, Rita Jenkins and Francis Lamas, all of Biloxi; nine grandchildren, April and Summer Roberts of Houston, TX, Paul Roberts, III of Biloxi, Chad Brooks of Gainesville, GA, Alicia Palazzolo of Irwin, ID, Tommy Ferrill, III of Biloxi, Jennifer Ferrill Shaidnagle, Hallie and Leah Ferrill, all of Hattiesburg; and six great grandchildren, Alexandra, Tyler, and Hunter Brooks of Gainesville, GA, and Jordan, Joplyn, and Julia Roberts of Biloxi.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with the Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Biloxi at 11:00 a.m where friends may visit one hour prior. Burial to follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
