Ann Ray, age 56, of Long Beach, passed away on July 5, 2020.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel H. Ray; her father, Robert S. Turner; her father-in-law, Daniel Grady Ray; her mother-in-law, Rita Ray; and her brother-in-law, Calvin Willard.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Willard; her mother, Margarette Turner; her children, Daniel Ray (Ashley), Anthony Ray (Katie), and Lauren Kowalchyk (Matt); her in-laws, David and Pennie Willard and Erenestina Detiveaux; her step-children, Gabe and Symphony Willard; her siblings, Yvonne Turner, Georgette Hibbs (Paul), JoAnne Ezell, and Terry Snipes; 2 sisters-in-law, Laura Burrus (Eugene) and DeeDee McCaffrey (Tim); a brother-in-law, Pat Ray (Suzanne); 6 grandchildren, Sonny Ray, Annakate Ray, Grady Ray, Marek, Ari, and Frankie Kowalchyk; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Ann worked for many years as a pre-school teacher at St. Thomas School where she treasured her relationship with her students and their families and her co-workers. Most recently, she enjoyed her time working at the Long Beach Public Library. She enjoyed being involved in her children’s activities and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 10, 2020, from 10 – 11 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd, Long Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in the church. Interment will be in Long Beach City Cemetery.
All current social distancing guidelines are recommended and masks are required in the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School, 4321 Espy Ave., Long Beach, MS 39560.
