Anthony Vitale, Jr., 86, of Biloxi, passed away Friday, August 16, 2019 at Brookdale Senior Living in Biloxi.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Judith Vitale; and other family, Connie Lisa, Anna Vitale, Luce Glazik, Dominick Vitale, Yolanda Haas, Gloria Vitale, Joseph Vitale and Gabriel Vitale.
Survivors include his son, Anthony Vitale, III and wife, Bernadette of Biloxi; his daughter, Katharine Lawrence and husband, Thomas of Big Pine Key, Florida; his grandchildren, Anthony Vitale 4th, Dominick Vitale, Thomas Lawrence and wife, Jessica, Matthew Lawrence and wife, Melissa, and Joseph Lawrence; and great-grandchildren, Thomas "Tex", Shealyn Mae, Marshall and Maxwell.
Mr. Vitale was a native of Brooklyn, NY and has been a long-time resident of Biloxi. After high school, he entered the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. After his military service, he worked for the New York, Susquehanna & Western Railway.
He loved spending time with his grandsons, and he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, N.J. State Legislative Board and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21st from 6 to 8 p.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. @ Washington Ave. in West Jackson County.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 22nd at St. Mary Catholic Church, 8343 Woolmarket Road, Biloxi, where friends may visit one-hour prior.
Interment with military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, 8343 Woolmarket Rd., Biloxi, MS 39532; or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
