Anthony "Tony" James Marengo, age 91, passed away on May 27, 2021 in Carriere, Mississippi.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lukey Marengo and Mabel Marengo; wife, Rayma Dell Phelps Marengo; brothers Alvin Marengo, E.J. Marengo and Lukey Marengo; sister, Mary Rotundo; and stepfather Papa Nick.
Survivors include two sons, Anthony J. Marengo Jr. (Terri) and Britt Marengo (Julie) of Carriere; brother S.J. Marengo and sister Delores Parker; five grandchildren, Alisha Showalter (Ferriss) of Covington, LA, Dana Dazet (Joe) of Madisonville, LA, Trey Marengo (Mindy) of Metairie, LA, Lesli Marengo (Stephen Malley) of Slidell, LA, Ross Marengo of Chalmette, LA; and six great-grandchildren, Conner, Olivia, Evan, Avery, Alex and Zoey.
Tony spent 27 years at the Michoud Assembly Plant in Louisiana, beginning in 1962 with Chrysler Space Division and retired in 1990 from Lockheed Martin. He also worked with his sons at their business from 1991-2005. He and his wife lived in Chalmette, LA for 48 years until Hurricane Katrina, and then moved to Hide-A-Way Lake in Carriere, MS. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years during the Korean War, enjoyed woodworking and gardening, and was an avid New Orleans Saints fan. He was also a member of the Shriners Clown Unit.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM with visitation starting at 1:00 PM at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd. Gulfport, MS. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport, MS. www.RiemannFamily.com
