Ansel Breeland, born in Tylertown, MS, December 31, 1924 (age 82) died peacefully with family members present at his new home in Elizabeth Colorado on December 9, 2007.
Mr. Breeland served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and received a Purple Heart for injuries received in July 1944 during action in the Philippine Islands. He continued his military service in the United States Air Force until his retirement as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1973. Mr. Breeland was a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast for more than 35 years, a charter member of Bay Vista Baptist Church in Biloxi, MS and a resident of Elizabeth, Colorado for 4 months.
Mr Breeland was preceeded in death by his parents, John D. Breeland and Otera Breeland; his wife of 59 years, Ilita Breeland; and his brothers, John D. Breeland and Elmo Breeland. He is survived by his son, Raymond Breeland and his wife Yavonne of Elizabeth, Colorado; his grandchildren, Shawn, Jonathon and Michael; his sisters, Carolyn Bowers, Helen McCrary and Virginia Carr.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 14, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Floral Hills Mausoleum Chapel where friends may visit an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Floral Hills. RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
