Annice Lenoir Edwards, born August 8, 1920 in McComb, Ms, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 23, 2012 at the age of 91.
Ms. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband RL Edwards, and her brothers and sisters, Mygnone Lenoir Boone, Xavier J. Lenoir, Pauline Lenoir Martin, Juanita Lenior Kees, Edrie Lenoir Scott, and Wesley B. Lenoir.
She is survived by her son John Elder of Champagne, Ill; her daughters, Vickie Meyer of The Woodlands, Texas, and Emily Hudkins of Llano, Texas; her five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and a multitude of loved nieces and nephews.
Ms. Edwards married RL Edwards in 1941 and traveled around the country with him and their two daughters, while he served in the Air Force. While serving in Rome, New York, Ms. Edwards became one of the founding members of the Dependents Assistance Program which was part of the Air Force Aids Society at Griffiss Air Force Base. Ms. Edwards moved back home to Mississippi in 1959. She became a member of the First United Methodist Church, Gulfport, and was an active member of the choir. She retired from USM at Gulf Park. Ms. Edwards loved to sew, sing, and spend time with her large family.
She will always be remembered as a beautiful, graceful and strong southern Christian woman, and a beloved mother, nana, mamaw, grandma, and Auntie.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd, Gulfport. A procession will leave the funeral home at 1:40 PM and proceed to Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport, for a graveside service at 2:00 PM.
