Anne Hutchison Campbell, age 73, of Rock Hill, SC, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 28, 2010, in Gulfport, MS.
She was born in Montgomery, AL, on March 5, 1936. Her childhood years were spent in Charlotte, NC. Her family moved to New Orleans where, at the age of 16, she met Vincent Campbell. Anne married her high school sweetheart on January 29, 1956. Anne and Vincent lived in New Orleans for 17 years, where they raised their daughters, Elizabeth and Susan.
Anne was an accomplished artist. She was the great niece of Anne Goldthwaite, Impressionist artist of the early 1900's.
Anne honed her artistic skills as she studied with Challis Callendria. Anne participated in numerous art shows and was a member of the art guild in each city of residence. Anne won numerous awards for her portraits, still lifeaÌââ¢s and landscapes that she beautifully crafted in various media.
Anne and Vincent later resided in Pass Christian, MS, Nassawadox, VA, and Rock Hill, S.C. She was a member of Church of our Savior Episcopal Church.
Anne was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, A.E. Hutchison, Jr. and Anne Goldthwaite Hutchison; uncle, T.W. Hutchison; and aunt, Olivia Wallach Nelson.
She is survived by her husband, W. Vincent Campbell of Rock Hill, SC; daughters, Susan Campbell Gregory and her husband Kenneth of Kiln and Elizabeth Campbell McGraw and her husband Mark of Woodville, MS; her sister-in-law, Cynthia Campbell Martin of Diamondhead; and grand-children, Kenneth Hutchison Gregory, Christina Lorin Gregory, William Christopher McGraw; her great grandchild, Brayden Ezekias Cooper; and five nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.
Pallbearers will be Hutch Gregory, Sean Martin, Fred Martin, Shane Corr, Christopher McGraw, and Charlie Smith.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2010, at 2:00 PM at St. PatrickaÌââ¢s Episcopal Church, Long Beach, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery, Pass Christian.
