Anna "Ruth" Jenkins

Anna "Ruth" Jenkins, born on December 7, 1940, in Ray City, Georgia, departed this life on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in Biloxi, Mississippi. A cherished member of her community and a devoted Christian, Ruth’s life was marked by her commitment to her family, her faith, and her many accomplishments.

Ruth was a proud graduate of Suwannee High School, where her journey began. An avid bowler, she participated in the Senior Olympics, earning numerous Gold Medals and accolades that highlighted her skill. Her legacy in the sport was further solidified when she was inducted into the Mississippi Bowling Hall of Fame for her exceptional high average. Throughout her life, Ruth was a beloved member of Woolmarket Baptist Church.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Ruth leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her three children, Karen (John) Korn, Amy (Jimmy) Ward, and Ricky (Anna) Jenkins. Ruth's grandchildren include John (Heather) Korn, Jeremy (Karenlynn) Korn, Chad McDowall, Travis Ward, Amber Jenkins, Magan Jenkins, Seth Erdmann, Hailee Jenkins, Frankie Jenkins, Charlie Jenkins, and Savanna Jenkins. Additionally, she cherished her great-grandchildren, Shelby, Lauren, Jeremy, Axel, and Aziah. Ruth also shared her life with siblings Marjorie Bass, Jack Nash, Georgia Hitchcock, Paulette (Dan) Buchanan, Judy McMullen, Gilbert Nash, Hubert (Ann) Nash, and Diane (Alfred) Luke.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank "Bo" Jenkins, who stood by her side throughout their life together. Ruth was also preceded by her parents, Jack and Inez Nash; her granddaughter, Amanda Ward; and her grandson, Jimmy Ward.

Ruth's family and friends remember her as a beacon of strength and love. Her life will be celebrated at Woolmarket Baptist Church, with visitation starting at 9:30 AM and the funeral service following at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. A graveside service will follow at Coalville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Woolmarket Baptist Church, 12816 Lorraine Road, Biloxi, MS 39532.
