Anna Binion White Cotten, age 88, of Ridgeland, MS passed away peacefully the morning of August 25, 2008 at her home in Ridgeland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John Stevens Cotten, and her parents, John Binion and Corrin Lee White.
A.B. is survived by her children, Dr. Steve Cotten and his wife, Judy, of Gulf Shores, AL, Julie Daughdrill and her husband, Sunny, of Gulfport, and Ginny Roberts and her husband, Richard, of Ridgeland; her grandchildren, Tammy Herring of Murrells Inlet, SC, JulieAnna Sherrod of Spanish Fort, AL, Dray Williams of New Orleans, Dana Jacobs of San Diego, CA, Natalie Hargrove of Bainbridge Island, WA, Jacy Brown of Mableton, GA, Charlton Roberts of Ridgeland, and Carly Cotten of Gulf Shores; and thirteen great-grandchildren, soon to be fifteen.
A.B. was born in Poplarville, MS. After graduating from Ole Miss where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority, she married John Stevens Cotten, DDS, and they celebrated over fifty five years of marriage. A.B. and John enjoyed Dixieland Jazz music with the Gulf Coast Jazz Society, sailing and boating at the Gulfport Yacht Club, and spending time with their many Coast friends. They volunteered extensively with the Christian Medical Society in Honduras, ministering for a month each year for twenty six years, often bringing their children with them to share in the mission experience. They also enjoyed traveling to Europe visiting friends they met through their travels to Honduras. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Gulfport.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, Gulfport, where friends may call from 1:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow at Poplarville City Cemetery.
