Ann Sneed Pennington

Ann Sneed Pennington, of Athens, Alabama, formerly of Biloxi, passed away August 28, 2010.
Mrs. Pennington was born on December 23, 1924 in Meridian, Mississippi to Blanche Aust Sneed and John Ravenscroft Sneed. She moved with her husband to Biloxi in 1951 and remained there for 43 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Miramar Garden Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Richard Pace Chapter of Colonial Dames, Chapter D P.E.O, Cleophan Club, Metropolitan Dinner Club, the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Junior Auxiliary, and Les Masque Carnival Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Pennington, and her brother, John R. Sneed. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia King (Sammy) of Athens, Alabama; her grandchildren, Meredith Jackson Shapley (Christopher) of Starkville, Mississippi, John C. Jackson of Jackson, Mississippi and Sam H. Jackson of Athens, Alabama; step-granddaughters, Kimberly King Tidwell (Keith) of Birmingham, Alabama and Sarah Anne King Kirkland (Patrick) of Foley, Alabama; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Catherine Shapley of Starkville, Mississippi; and her sister, Janie Sneed Nichols of Fort Payne, Alabama.
Graveside services will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 1:30 p.m.
