Mrs. Anita Gloria Minnon, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sept. 25, 2009.
She was born on Nov. 4, 1930 in Laconia, New Hampshire and has been a resident of Gulfport, Ms for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Retired SMSgt Albert H. Minnon Sr., son LTC Albert H. Minnon, Jr., and daughter Teresa A. Minnon. She is survived by five children, LTC Retired James Minnon (wife Josie), Ms. Catherine Minnon (Mike), Mrs. Cynthia Shuttleworth (husband Mark), Mrs. Denise Rosetti (husband Scott), and Mrs. Lisa Stovall (husband Jason); a daughter-in-law, Renee Minnon Barkman; three sisters: Betty Haslam, Charlotte Provencial, and Priscilla Clavitte; sixteen grandchildren: James, Jon, Krista, Tiffany, Jessica, Jennifer, Brandy, Shannon, Chad, Matt, Aaron, Ashley, Raegan, Lindsey, Jacob, and Jaxson, and thirteen great-grandchildren: Lauren, Luke Tyler, Davis, Joshua, Addyson Kate, Luke Thomas, Noah, Emily, Mills, Emma-Reid, Sullivan, Beasley and Charlotte. Anita was a life long catholic and faithful member of St Johns Catholic Church until the onset of her illness.
Anita was a dedicated wife for over 47 years, selflessly lived her life for her family while also serving her country as a serviceman's wife for 28 years. She was the glue that held together a growing family as they moved to and from multiple locations in the United States to those in Europe and the Far East before finally settling in Gulfport. She was not only a great mom but the best kind of friend to her children and their children. She provided a home environment that always welcomed family and friends with her special brand of love and caring. Her love of the Lord and the strength of her faith stood firm as a beacon for all to emulate. Today she re-joins her life partner and two of her children in eternal happiness with the Lord.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on 26 Sep 2009 at St. James Catholic Church, 366 Cowan Road, Gulfport MS 39507, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial services will be conducted at the conclusion of the mass at Evergreen Gardens Cemetery in Gulfport.
