Anita Kathleen Fowler (Garcia), age 65, gained her angel wings on the morning of August 20, 2019 while surrounded by family.
Born in New Jersey on June 13, 1954, her family returned home to friends and loved ones in Hancock County, Mississippi, where she remained for the duration of her life. She was a graduate of Hancock North Central High School, C/O 1973. Anita dedicated most of her life to serving others and making memories with those that she loved. She managed Easterbrook Apartments for 28 years where she gained many friends, many of whom became more like family. In addition, she worked as a Dispatcher for Hancock County for 25 years and was a member and Ladies Auxiliary President of the VFW Post 6285 in Kiln, Mississippi.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Manuel J. Haas (Katie); parents, Lois Mae Haas and Johnny Garcia; a brother, Eddie Garcia; a nephew, Larry Douglas Garcia II; an ex spouse, Russell Fowler; and ex companion, Leo Ladner.
She leaves behind her best friend and long time companion, Sonny Cuevas; two sons, Dallas Fowler (Michelle) of Kiln, and Chad Ladner of Bay St. Louis; sisters, Angela Orama of Kiln, Andrea Bilbo (Chester) of Bay St. Louis, Susie Shows of Diamondhead, Zena Vansteensburg of Kiln, and Paula Davies of Waveland; a brother, Joey Johnson of Pearlington; grandchildren Danae' Fowler of Bay St. Louis, Britne Cuevas of Kiln, and Drake Cuevas of Kiln; nephews, Drake Domino of Kiln, Terry Bilbo Jr. of Bay St. Louis, and Tyler Bilbo of Bay St. Louis; and two nieces (Godchildren) Lucretia Ruspoli of Waveland and Chenea Cardinale of Kiln.
Friends and Family are welcome to join together in remembrance at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Rd. Pass Christian, MS, on the evening of August 23, 2019 from 5 - 8 PM. On the morning of Saturday, August 24, at St. Rose DeLima Catholic Church, visitation will begin at 9 AM with Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM. Following Mass, Anita will be brought to her final resting place at Bayou Coco Cemetary in Kiln, MS.
