Andy M. Vanover, Ret. MSgt, USAF, age 83, of Gulfport, died Sunday, February 3, 2008 at his home.
Andy was born February 1, 1925 in Gatliff, Kentucky. He served with honor and pride for 26 years in the U.S. Air Force in WWII, Korea and Vietnam, where he was rewarded the Bronze Star.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Cora Vanover; sisters, Loretta Sexton and Alene Jude; and brother, James Vanover.
Andy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Aggie; daughters, Jan Innis of Palestine, Texas, Joan Cockrell (Farrell) of Wiggins, and Brenda Znachko (Michael); son, Samuel Vanover (Anita) of New Orleans; ten grandchildren, Jamie, Jessica, Kristin, Devan, Rachael, Paul, Caleb, Garbriel, Andy and Michael; eight great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to join the Vanover family for visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. Services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Handsboro Baptist Church Renovation Fund.
