Amanda Lynn Carter

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of the beloved woman, Amanda Tallent (Carter), who left us peacefully on September 16, 2024, at the age of just 42 years old. Born on August 11, 1982, she was a beacon of love, kindness, and strength to all who knew her. She joins her grandmother Shirley Kelly, daughter Nicole Blackwell, and cousin “JJ” Coleman in their righteous homes.

Amanda dedicated her life to her family, always putting others before herself. Her nurturing spirit was the foundation of the family. She was so much more than a devoted mother, she put her all in everything she came across. Her kindness knew no bounds. She had an incredible ability to turn ordinary moments into magic, and everyone around her could feel the love she spewed.

In addition to her family devotion, Amanda had a deep love for animals. Whether it be a feral cat or a flying squirrel, she took great joy in making sure they were cared and loved for. Her tender care made our home a sanctuary for all creatures, great and small. She found happiness in the simplest of pleasures.

She is survived by her children: Ayron Bourgeois, Emily Blackwell, and Jayce Tallent; loving partner Jason Tallent; and her grandchild, Aysley Bourgeois. She will also be lived through by her mother Cindy Carter;father Roy Jones Sr.; and siblings Rachell Carter, Angala Carter, Roy Carter, and TJ McWethy; and lastly, her fur babies Chloe, Missy, Bailey, Maggie, Sunny, Venus, Midnight, Teeny, and Mama.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation and services on September 23,2024, at the Riemann Waveland Chapel; 141 US Hwy 90, Waveland, MS 39576. Visitation will be held 1:00 – 2:00 pm, followed by service at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow the service at Wolf River Cemetery; 16303 Cemetery Rd, Gulfport MS 39503.
