Alvena Spain

Alvena Spain, age 79 and a resident of Ocean Springs died on Saturday, February 18, 2012, in Pascagoula.
Mrs. Spain was a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast. She was a member of Pass Road Baptist Church in Gulfport, where she worked in the church office for many years. She was also a longtime employee with McDonald's here on the Coast for over 20 years. Mrs. Spain adored her grandchildren and loved and was committed to her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Spain; her parents, Henry and Jewel Lindeman and her siblings, Homer Lindeman, Rhoda Lindeman, and Fred Lindeman.
Mrs. Spain is survived by her children, Mark (Cathy) Spain of Canyon Lake, TX, Denise Spain of Ocean Springs, and Caren (Darryl) Simmons of Ocean Springs; her sister, Sally (Bill) VanGilder of Lubbock, TX; her grandchildren, Candace (Scott) Spain-Smith of Waco, TX, Meredith (David) Brown of Spring, TX, and Cooper Simmons and Kendall Simmons both of Ocean Springs and one expected great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, from 6pm-8pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012, at 10am at Biloxi National Cemetery.
