Alma Franke

Alma Rita Franke, age 64, passed away November 11, 2021.

She is preceded in death by her father, William H. Lear; her mother, Mable Morris; stepfather, Ray C. Morris.

Alma is survived by her daughters, Bethany Gipson (Carl) and Brittany Dubuisson; her siblings, Billy W. Lear (Charlotte) and Sandra Jones (Tommy); her grandchildren, Carl Gipson IV, Kristian Gipson, Carley Gipson, Natalie Gipson, Brody Gipson, and Kinley Dubuisson; and also, her beloved dog Breezy.

She is a native of Gulfport, MS. In 1975, Alma graduated Harrison Central High School and after that she earned a cosmetology license from American Beauty College. For 21 years, she worked at Oreck in Long Beach, MS. She then worked for the Harrison County School District, as well as Nugent United Methodist Church and Child Development Center. Alma thoroughly enjoyed caring for her children.
Alma was a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan, Who Dat. She loved to attend every football, basketball, baseball, soccer game, band, and guard competition that her grandchildren were a part of, and she was always the loudest in the stands.
Ms. Rita devoted her life to caring for children, whether they were her own or not. She touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November, 17, 2021, from 5 - 7 pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.
