Alivia “Liv” Jean Hood, age 13, went to be with Jesus on January 17, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandparents, Marshall “Bob” and Jeannie Williams and Fred R. Hood; maternal great-grandparents, George and Jewel Higginbotham, and Robert “Bob” and Gay King.
Liv is survived by her parents, Rickey W. Hood, Jr and Angie M. Hood; 2 siblings, Ava J. Hood and Gage B. Hood; her grandparents, Rickey and Cynthia Hood, Sam Searcy, and Donna and Walter Brightman; aunts, Ashley (Sonny) Seymour, Rachelle (Jonathan) Saucier, and Jamie Brightman-Matthews; uncle, Walter “Wally” (Sam) Brightman; her great-grandmother, Lovina M. Hood; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
Liv was a resident of Woolmarket and was an 8th grade student at West Wortham Middle School where she was on the honor roll, a member of the Student Council, yearbook staff, Wolfpack volleyball team, and Cheer team.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, and medical staff at Children’s of Alabama PICU, Cassandra Stein Nosser, and the staff of West Wortham School for all of the love and support.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 1 – 3 pm at Woolmarket Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 3 pm. Interment will be in Coalville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Children’s of Alabama Foundation, 1600 7th Ave, Birmingham, AL 35233 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
