Aline (Lind) Gilbert, 75, formerly of Bay St. Louis, died December 5, 2007 in York City, PA.
Aline was a housewife and mother all her life, and a foster mother for more than 20 years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Freedom, PA for the past two years, and a former member of Our Lady of the Gulf, Bay St. Louis. Aline and her late husband, Paul were active members of The Foster Parents Association of Harford County, MD and served as officers. Her passion was her family and her foster children. She loved reading, traveling, puzzles and cooking. Aline enjoyed baking and designing wedding and birthday cakes. She loved many, and many loved her.
She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Daniel Gilbert III; one sister, Gracie Allen; and her parents, Alphonse and Luvenia (Ladnier) Lind..
Aline is survived by two daughters; Sandra Brooks and her husband Napoleon, of GA, and Pamela Gorman and her husband Thomas, of New Freedom; one son; Carl Gilbert, of Bay St. Louis; four sisters; Adele Hayden of Pass Christian, Gloria Gilbert of New Freedom, Vernette Rollison of Glen Rock, and Bernadette Jones of Baton Rouge, LA; two brothers; A.J. Lind, Jr. of Diamondhead, and Michael Lind, of Kiln. Aline is also survived by eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mississippi Children's Home Society, 28281 Road 401, Saucier, MS 39574.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2007 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road, Pass Christian. The Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at Bayou LaCroix Cemetery. A guestbook may be signed at www.riemannfamily.com.
