Alice Hill

Alice Erline Hill passed away peacefully at home August 25th, 2022, at the age of 87.

Alice was born February 16,1935, was a lifelong resident of Biloxi, and was as the oldest of 4 children born to Alton and Brittie Hilton. Alice was an exceptional student and was valedictorian of her graduating class. After high school, she married Billy Hill, and together they had two sons, Robert and Kenny. As a family they were stationed in several different places with Billy being a medic in the Air Force before building their home and settling back in Biloxi.

Alice was devoted to her family and put every bit of love and energy she had into them. When she became a Granny in 1987 to her first and only grandchild, she had an instant best buddy, shopping partner, and reading partner for life in her granddaughter, Ashley.

Alice enjoyed reading, sewing, shopping, bird watching, sitting on her back porch, and had an unconditional love for cats and animals. She loved plants and flowers and always made sure her yard and porches were blooming with both.

She will be most remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, granny, and greatgranny, with a giving and loving heart, and will be missed beyond measure.

Alice is proceeded in death by her parents, Alton and Brittie Hilton; brothers, Buddy and David Hilton; and her son Robert Hill.

Alice is survived by her husband and lifelong companion of over 65 years, Billy Hill; son, Kenny Hill; brother, Russell Hilton; granddaughter, Ashley Williams (Brennan); great granddaughter, Avery Williams; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Ocean Springs hospital, Sunplex rehab facility, Home Instead, and Notre Dame hospice for the wonderful, compassionate care she received the last several weeks.

A visitation for friends will be 10:30-11:30am on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at The Riemann Family Funeral Home, 135872 Lemoyne Blvd. in West Jackson County.  A graveside service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of South Mississippi in her honor.
