Alfred Q. Jemison

Mr. Alfred Q. """"Jim"""" Jemison, a long time resident of Biloxi, MS, died on Sunday, March 30, 2008.
Alfred was born in Birmingham, AL on July 25, 1929. He attended school at Parker High, and was educated at the prestigious Morehouse College, where he graduated with honors in 1951. He moved to Biloxi, MS in 1952, and was employed at Keesler Air Force Base as a training specialist for 35 years. In that same year he met his wife, Vera Mae Laurie, and they were married for 54 years, until his departure. Mr. Jemison was a devoted husband and father.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Elizabeth Jemison; and three siblings, Napoleon, Leon, and Mildred.
Mr. Jemison is survived by his wife, Vera Jemison; three sons: Curtis Jemison and wife Deborah, Andre Jemison and wife Sylvia, all of Birmingham, AL, and Joseph """"Squibby"""" Jemison of Houston; two daughters: Jackie Jackson, of Biloxi, and Margaret Ramsey of Miami, FL; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park on Highway 90.
