Alexander “Randy” Anselmo, age 74 of Picayune, MS, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our hero-our father.
Randy was born August 17, 1947, to Joe and Lucille Anselmo in Baton Rouge, LA, where he graduated from Lee High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps. After the Marines, he went to work for Dow Chemical for 27 years. He spent a few years at Reebok as an outside salesman and completed his career with Performance Contractors as a safety manager.
He was preceded in death his wife, Judy Anselmo; his son, Bret Anselmo; his brothers, Mark and Russell Anselmo; and his parents, Joe and Lucille Anselmo.
Randy is survived by his daughter, Brandi Anselmo Harris; his son, Brock (Britney) Anselmo; his grandchildren, Storme Harris, Cohen Anselmo, Joaney Young, and Brees Anselmo.
Randy was the ultimate father, he beat many illnesses and survived what many others could not. Randy thoroughly enjoyed coaching football and baseball especially when his sons or daughter were on the team. Along the way, he became a mentor for many other children that still look up to him to this day. In addition to coaching, Randy also played fastpitch softball until he was almost 40 years old, with a great bunch of men he still calls friends. Randy was an AVID sports fan and loved to watch his LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. He also loved to watch the Olympics. He would go out of his way to go fishing and hunting and loved anything outdoors.
Randy, our father, our friend, our family is at peace now. He was met by many loved ones in Heaven. We love him and will miss him dearly.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is serving the family.
